Getting Ready for Your Breathwork Journey

Eating & Hydration

  • Eat lightly or fast for 2–4 hours before your session, avoiding heavy foods like meat and cheese.

  • Limit water to a few sips if needed, so your stomach is comfortably empty—not too full or hungry.

  • Plan a balanced meal about 4 hours beforehand if possible, and always prioritize your blood sugar and overall health needs.

Clothing & Comfort

  • Wear loose, layered clothing to stay comfortable through temperature changes.

  • Avoid tight waistbands, bras, binders, or shapewear to allow unrestricted breathing

Pillows & Blankets

  •  Pillows and blankets will be provided for support behind the head or knees, for hugging, emotional release, or body-release work.

  • Feel free to bring your own pillows or blankets if you prefer.

Eye Mask or Blindfold

  •  Bring an eye mask or blindfold (bandana or breathable 100% cotton fabric recommended) to block light.

  • Ideally, the eyes remain closed for the full music set.

  • For in-person sessions, equipment will be provided.

Space & Positioning

  •  You may sit or lie down—on a chair, recliner, bed, couch, or floor.

  • Let me know your preferred position so I can prepare your space in advance.

Dryness & Hydration Needs

  •  If you tend to dry out, consider dry eye spray/balm, lip balm, or dry mouth spray/gel (e.g., Biotene, Oasis, Spry Spray).

  • Water will be available, but you may bring your own in a closed container to avoid spills.

Integration Materials

  •  Have a journal ready for reflecting on your session.

  • I will provide blank paper, colored pencils, and other materials, but feel free to bring your own.

  • Memories of the session may fade quickly due to state-dependent memory; additional integration practices will be shared at the end.

Minimizing Distractions

  •  Silence phones and computer notifications to minimize interruptions during the music.

What to Avoid

  •  Avoid lozenges, gum, and candy to reduce choking risk.

  • Avoid tight clothing that restricts your breath.
